How To Measure A Stump

When measuring a stump you want to start at the first point above ground and go to the furthest point above ground. This ensures that you will get a more accurate estimate.

The green line is the proper way to measure.

The red line is the wrong way to measure.

Multiple Stumps?

With 4 or more stumps, we require an on-site visit to provide an estimate. This allows us to price a job accurately and competitively.

VARIABLES THAT CAN AFFECT TOTAL COST

1. The amount of trunk above grade. Anything above 10” is subject to an additional charge.

2. Actual size of stump – we will measure your actual stumps, and if there is any difference than what was described, we will adjust price up or down. We measure the widest point of each stump that is above ground.

A. Ease of access. Can we get to the stumps easily or are they behind small gates, blocked by greenscapes, etc.

B. Location of stumps. Are the stumps all in the same area or spread around the property.
